On 7th May, 2008 over 180 delegates attended the First UK Albania Investment Forum at One Whitehall
Place in central London. The Albanian Government, represented by its Minister of Economy and Energy, further key ministers, central bank governor, investment agency and several major businesses came to the UK for the purpose of engaging with the investment community from the UK.
A number of specific investment projects and opportunities were discussed in detail with key note presentations also made by British parliamentarians and the business community.
On 17th April, 2008, DMA managed the First UK/Tanzanian Investment Forum. Over 200 delegates attended the UK Tanzania Investment Forum at Savoy Place in central London. The Tanzanian Government, represented by its Vice President, key ministers, Central Bank Governor, investment centre and major businesses came to the UK for the purpose of engaging with the investment community from the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.
Programme for the day, 17th April, 2008:
DMA were tasked by the UK’s Department for International Development to organise a press launch for the UK remittances Customer Charter, a voluntary Charter developed by the UK Remittances Task Force.
Shahid Malik, Undersecretary of State for International Development officially launched the Charter in January 2008 at DFID headquarters with presentations also made by Seymour Fortescue, Chairman of the UK Remittances Task Force, Leon Isaacs, CEO of DMA and HE Melvin Chalobah, High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to the UK.
On Friday March 27th, 2009, the Australian Agency for International development (AusAID) and Developing Markets Associates Ltd launched www.sendmoneypacific.org at the NRL match between Wests Tigers vs Sydney Roosters at Sydney Football Stadium. The website was officially launched by Amanda Rishworth MP (Chair of Australian Pacific Parliamentary Friendship Group), HE Mr Leiataua Dr Kilifoti Eteuati, High Commissioner of Samoa to Australia, and Leon Isaacs, CEO of DMA.
