DMA was delighted to support the Algeria British Business Council (ABBC) in organising the Partnership with Algeria Conference, held on 8th October 2015.
Over 150 representatives from UK companies attended the forum, alongside a senior delegation from Algeria’s premier business association, Forum des Chefs d’Entreprise (FCE). Following welcome addresses from Lady Olga Maitland, Chair and Founder of the ABCC, Rt. Hon. Lord Richard Risby, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Algeria, HMA Andrew Noble and HE Amar Abba, delegates enjoyed presentations from a number of high-profile business figures including Ali Haddad, Chief Executive of the Algerian Construction Company (ETRHB) and Ayman Asfari, Chief Executive of Petrofac.
The event was co-chaired by DMA’s Chief Executive, Atam Sandhu who commented that “this is the FCE’s second visit to London in the space of twelve months: The strength of the Algerian delegation and their reception from the UK business community shows that UK-Algeria relations have never been stronger.” The FCE was last in London for the UK-Algeria Trade & Investment Forum, which was hosted by DMA in December 2014, and will be a key partner for the Algeria-UK Investment Forum taking place, in Algiers, later this year.
During the FCE’s visit to London, successful meetings were also held with the London Stock Exchange and with the next Lord Mayor of London, Sir Paul Judge.
