It has been announced that DMA will be hosting a landmark event in the run up to COP26 in November, on Algeria’s renewable energy potential, in partnership with DIT in Algeria in March 2021.
Event Press Release:
Prior to this year’s COP 26 Summit in Glasgow, a number of countries are setting out their green, and transition to green, ambitions.
Algeria, in tandem with the UK’s climate diplomacy agenda, is setting out a fundamental commitment to a cleaner energy output and as such, Africa’s biggest country is offering a series of opportunities for the renewable energy industry.
Led by the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Algeria, the Algerian Government’s Ministry of Energy Transition, the country’s major parastatals and the Ambassadors to both countries, a detailed programme will take a deep-dive into Algeria’s energy transition, market potential and investable opportunities across the entire renewable energy landscape in both public and private sectors.
Furthermore, the UK Government’s Export Finance arm will set out a specific green energy investment appetite for Algeria alongside several British companies who will highlight their own on-going commitment to both transitioning from carbon-based industries and investing in new green technologies.
