Prior to joining DMA, Simon had been with the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) for over 20 years most recently as High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea before which he was HM Ambassador to the Ivory Coast.
Simon joined the FCO in 1996 and has previously served in Baku as Deputy Head of Mission and as Head of the Governor’s Office in Grand Cayman. Simon has wide experience in political security issues working as a regional security policy adviser for the FCO South Asia Group.
Simon is currently also acting as a senior advisor to one of the world’s largest mining companies as well as a number of other high-profile consultancy positions.
