Trade and Investment Mission to DRC

DMA's inaugural trade mission to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in Kinshasa from April 10th to 11th, 2024, showcased the burgeoning potential of this dynamic market. Sponsored by Arise, Global Gases, Rawbank and Intertek, over 150 delegates convened at the Kin Plaza Arjaan by Rotana Hotel for two days of intensive engagement, resulting in significant agreements. Led by six DRC cabinet ministers and UK figures, notably the Lord Popat, HM Trade Envoy to DRC and John Humphrey, HM Trade Commissioner for Africa, the mission reaffirmed the commitment to fostering bilateral trade relations.

Key highlights included panel discussions on the DRC's economic landscape, one-on-one meetings to explore partnerships, and sectoral ministerial meetings. A historic moment occurred with the signing of a $140 million contract by Westminster Group plc. Numerous letters of intent and MoUs were also signed, underscoring the unwavering commitment of both nations to economic growth and prosperity through collaborative trade and investment efforts across various sectors.
